JJJ Libertarian discussion On Tuesday, 4 February, JJJ dedicated an hour of its morning show to discuss Libertarianism and invited ALS President John Humphreys as a guest on the show, along with left-libertarian Tony Moore from Pluto Press. Topics discussed included drug legalisation, pornography, welfare and general libertarian philosophy.

Official launch of libertarian.org.au On Saturday 18 January, a handful of Canberra libertarians gathered to wine and dine. The dinner marked the farewell for Duncan M, ALS Vice-President, who has left Canberra for Brisbane and will be missed. The dinner also marked the official launch for the new webpage (www.libertarian.org.au), which includes a blog and forum.

Anti-Kyoto Petition

In mid 2002, Alex Robson and John Humphreys coordinated an economists 'counter-petition' to the pro-Kyoto economists petition circulated by Clive Hamilton of the Australian Institute and John Quiggin. Free trade protest

On may day 2001, Duncan Spender and John Humphreys went along to the Canberra 'anti-trade' and 'anti-globalisation' rally to protest for free trade. The two 'counter-protesters' wore suits and carried placards reading "Free Trade & Jobs" and "Socialism doesn't work: Let people trade freely". The counter-protest gained TV, radio and print coverage.

ISIL interview

In mid 2000, the Freedom Network News, the magazine for the International Society for Individual Liberty (ISIL), published an interview between ISIL President Vince Miller and ALS President John Humphreys. More information on the ISIL can be found at www.isil.org.
