John Humphreys is the founder of the Australian Libertarian Society. He gained an economics honours degree from the University of Queensland (thesis on welfare reform) before moving to Canberra to work as a policy analyst at the Commonwealth Treasury and then a Research Economist with the Centre for International Economics - an international consulting firm.
John has been involved in libertarian activism since university, where he ran a campaign to make student unions voluntary (it's currently compulsory to join the student union). John is also involved with the Liberal Democratic Party.
